Janice has been sewing since the age of 5. She loved sewing at home and school. She had always intended to teach but got side tracked and trained in Pattern cutting at the London College of Fashion. She went to work for the John Lewis Partnership (happy days) manager in the dress fabric dept for 7yrs. Moved to the Chelsea shop in 1983 where she learnt everything she knows about Soft furnishings.
Forward 8yrs and she left to set up Croft Designs on her own making anything from wedding dresses to sofa covers and everything in between.
Fast forward 5yrs and finally she got back to what she loves, teaching. She started at home and then branched out with a franchise also working as a freelancer for Husqvarna sewing machines. She’s ended up travelling all over the country teaching sewing skills from beginners to couture level and loving every minute of it.
Janice is available to teach both groups and 1-2-1 classes. She also teaches at the Sewing Rooms in Putney (London) and runs retreats in Bromsgrove and Maidstone, Kent.
